The second edition of Pipeline is here — Counter’s monthly bitesize dive into the tools and technologies our Tech Leads are exploring. Unity Catalog ABAC (Attribute Based Access Controls)

The new Unity catalog features are a real level up to Governance capabilities within a Lakehouse. In particular the attribute based access controls will provide very fine grain access which is invaluable for AI enabled teams. A nice overview of the features with some demos can be found here:

AWS Re:Invent summary

This is the time of year that we all get intensely jealous of our LinkedIn connections posting pictures of themselves “working” at AWS Re:Invent in Las Vegas. Amongst the evenings on the Strip at casinos, incredible restaurants and Sumo wrestling fights (yes, really) they even have time to attend some AWS talks and announcements.
